9th Grade · Data4Change

I'm a freshman interested in data science and cricket. I created this project as part of the Data4Change course, exploring how cricket centuries have evolved over the history of the World Cup tournaments.

Why Did You Choose This Project?

I chose this project because cricket is a sport defined by numbers, yet the shift in how centuries are scored across eras is something often discussed but rarely visualized with raw data. I wanted to see how factors like playing at specific venues and the reliance on boundaries have changed since the first World Cup in 1975. Using Python to clean and analyze this data allowed me to see patterns in player strike rates and scoring distributions that aren't obvious from a simple scorecard. This project allowed me to combine my passion for the sport with my interest in learning data science tools like Pandas and Matplotlib.
